Ayurveda and Yoga Retreat in Sri Lanka
An intimate retreat by the ocean where traditional Ayurveda, daily yoga, and meditation combine with the tranquility of tropical nature for deep regeneration of body and mind. Max. 14 guests at a time.
An Island Home for Your Rejuvenation
Soul Balance is an intimate Ayurvedic resort near the ocean in Sri Lanka, focused on deep rejuvenation of body and mind. It combines authentic Ayurvedic therapies, daily yoga and meditation, and light, conscious meals – all in the quiet setting of a private villa with a pool, hosting a maximum of 14 guests at a time.
The villa is located on the southern coast of Sri Lanka in a peaceful area near Koggala / Talpe, away from noisy resorts, yet just a few minutes by tuk-tuk from the ocean. Days flow slowly here: morning yoga, breakfast in the garden, Ayurvedic therapies, an afternoon rest by the pool, and evening meditation at sunset.
This is a place where you can temporarily set aside the “always online” mode – free from the bustle of large hotels, with a personal team approach and a safe space even for those traveling alone.

Authentic Ayurveda
Daily therapies (Abhyanga, Shirodhara…), consultations with an Ayurvedic doctor, and a treatment plan tailored to your constitution and current state. Not “spa massages”, but real therapeutic Ayurveda.
Yoga & Inner Calm
Gentle morning hatha/jin to awaken the body, evening relaxation, and guided meditations. Small groups, individual posture adjustments, with emphasis on the nervous system – not performance.
Sattvic Cuisine
Fresh local ingredients, seasonal vegetables, herbal teas, and fruits. The menu aligns with your Ayurvedic protocol – light, easily digestible, and supportive of healing rather than burdening digestion.
Accommodation During Your Ayurvedic Stay
Bright rooms, natural materials, and French windows opening to the garden create a peaceful setting for your Ayurvedic stay and daily rejuvenation. Shared spaces with pool views support relaxation between therapies, yoga, and meditation. Intimate capacity ensures quiet and ample space for you.

Accommodation is designed as part of the entire Ayurvedic program – supporting calm, rejuvenation, and a simple daily rhythm. Amenities: air-conditioning, Wi-Fi, daily service, pool, loungers, garden seating…
Typical Day During an Ayurvedic Stay
Before arrival, you will complete a short questionnaire, and upon arrival, a consultation with the Ayurvedic doctor will determine therapy intensity, meal composition, and recommended activities so you return home lighter, rested, and balanced.
During your stay, there is room for gentle exploration of the surroundings – always in a way that complements rather than interrupts the healing process.
- Visit to inland tea plantations,
- Dolphin and whale watching (seasonal),
- Excursion to sacred temples and local landmarks,
- Quiet sunset walk along the beach.
Trips are optional and can be individually planned according to your energy and what will be therapeutically supportive for you.
At the end of your stay, a final consultation with the doctor summarizes the therapy process and provides clear recommendations for continuing at home. If needed, the doctor can prescribe personalized Ayurvedic preparations (for a limited time) and advise on diet and daily routine to maintain your results.
As part of the stay’s conclusion, you will participate in a practical Ayurvedic cooking school. Learn simple principles and recipes tailored to your constitution that are easy to apply at home. The goal is not a “course,” but the ability to continue supporting your health after returning home – without unnecessary complexity.
More than Oil Massage – a Complete Healing Program
Every stay begins with a consultation with the Ayurvedic doctor. Based on the diagnosis, you receive a combination of massages, procedures, and daily routines that together act on the nervous system, digestion, hormones, and overall vitality.
The foundation of therapy – calming the nervous system, nourishing tissues, and releasing tension in the body.
- Abhyanga – full-body massage with warm medicated oils, often with two therapists. Relieves stress, insomnia, stiffness, and a sense of overload.
- Kati / Greeva / Janu Basti – warm oil pools on lower back, neck, or knees. Intensive relief for spine and joint pain.
- Shiro Abhyanga – head and neck massage for migraines, tension, and mental overload.
- Pinda Sweda (herbal poultices) – warm herbal packs for muscles and joints for deep regeneration.
These are medical techniques targeting the nervous system, hormones, and long-term imbalances.
- Shirodhara – continuous gentle oil stream on the forehead. Effective for insomnia, anxiety, burnout, and mental overload.
- Udvartana – dry herbal massage activating metabolism and reducing fat stagnation.
- Nasya – medicinal oil applied in the nose. Acts on sinuses, migraines, and hormonal balance via the head region.
- Karna Purana – ear oil therapy calming the nervous system and internal tension.
- Basti / Virechana – intestinal and liver cleansing procedures performed only as per doctor’s indication.
Promote detoxification and help the body release tension, toxins, and stagnation.
- Swedana – herbal steam therapy after massage, gently sweating and releasing toxins.
- Snehana (internal oiling) – targeted doses of medicated ghee or oils to support digestion and deeper cleansing.
- Lepa – local herbal pastes on joints, spine, or skin for inflammation and pain.
- Herbal Baths – baths with medicinal plant extracts for relaxation and body calm.
Gentle but highly effective treatments for cycles, menopause, and pelvic tension.
- Yoni Pichu – special external oil therapy for pelvic area (doctor recommended only).
- Udarabhyanga – abdominal massage supporting digestion, hormonal balance, and postpartum recovery.
- Other gentle procedures chosen individually based on female case history and current condition.
Therapies work fully only when supported by daily rhythm – movement, breath, and food aligned with your constitution.
- Morning Yoga & Pranayama – therapeutic sequences, not “fitness yoga,” focusing on spine, nervous system, and stability.
- Meditation & Yoga Nidra – techniques for deep relaxation, insomnia relief, and nervous system recovery.
- Ayurvedic Nutrition – simple sattvic meals supporting therapy without disrupting it.
